The Strength Edge is the premiere 24h strength sports gym in Calgary. We are the proud home of many competitive Strongmen, powerlifters, and other athletes. From complete beginners to world class athletes, if you want to get stronger, this is the place to be.
On top of simply a facility, the community itself has many advantages.
No contract 24/7 memberships.
World class coaching specializing in Strongman, Conditioning, or general fitness.
The strongest lifters in the city (some truly world class) who are friendly and willing to share knowledge.
Home of Team Canada for Mas Wrestling, with competition opportunities all over the world.
Regular competitions are held. This includes both sanctioned powerlifting/strongman competitions
Competition grade equipment in Strongman, Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, and Grip Sport to support our athletes' training.
In-house massage therapy and physio.
Ownership that is actively involved in strength athletics and not motivated by profit. It takes a lifter to understand what makes a gym the best place to train in.
Extremely low rates for freelance personal trainers who wish to train their own clients. (You just pay the gym $10/client/session, they don't have to be members either)
An interview//referral process for new members, resulting in all members being of good character.
We are always happy to welcome new prospective members. If you like what you read and are interested, feel free to contact us. Bear in mind as an unstaffed gym the door is locked, so you will have to contact us in advance for access. We can meet you there or let you in remotely to check out the gym.
