Hello & Welcome! My name is Hannah Mortensen, and I'm the owner of Mountainside Music. I’m so glad that you are interested in music lessons! Many people think that music lessons are a optional part of a child's development, but I believe that the ability to play music is essential! Not only does music help develop critical thinking skills, listening abilities, personal character, and self discipline, but it also adds joy to their lives! I strive to offer personalized lessons based on a student's personality and learning style. I also believe that a student should be taught many genres of music to keep them interested, and to make the student more versatile. It's also much more fun for the student to play music that they love. This has been true in my musical journey! I've had some wonderful music teachers in my life that have made music fun yet challenging, and have inspired me! When I started teaching at the age of 15 I knew that I wanted the same for my students. All of the teachers at Mountainside Music share my philosophy and are dedicated to helping students discover the joy of making music. Each teacher brings their unique style and approach to teaching, so students can find the instructor that's the best fit for them. We currently offer lessons for piano, violin & theory. We believe that music should be an important part of everyone's life, just like it has been for us.
