Our journey to becoming Western Canada’s largest independent appliance retailer began in a bottle depot in Calgary, Alberta, in 1974. What started as a recycling business quickly transformed into an appliance rental business, and we never looked back.
We saw what big box stores were doing (more importantly, what they weren’t) and knew we could do better — better service, a better experience, and better prices. So, in 1980, we opened our first BC store in Richmond with just two brands.
We built our business around making everyday life better. Whether that’s finding the perfect washer-dryer combo to meet the needs (and laundry piles) of a growing family or figuring out which fridge will squeeze into a one-bedroom condo, our expert advice ensures everyone finds the right appliance for their lifestyle, space, and budget.
Today, we have 11 stores, with over 550 employees across the province and the best selection in Western Canada. Along the way, we’ve added a builder division that supplies some of BC’s largest real estate developers and received a ton of industry and consumer awards, including regularly appearing on the list of BC’s Best Loved Brands.
After over 40 years in business, we’re proud to say that we’re still finding new ways to make everyday life better.
